I'm Joanna Short — a senior brand and marketing leader with 15+ years of experience building brands that grow businesses, not just look good.
I've led brand, content and communications functions at global B2B SaaS companies — running in-house teams, owning the full brand and content engine, and working as a genuine strategic partner to sales, product and executive leadership. My work spans global rebrands, messaging strategy, content systems, campaign delivery and GTM activation across North America, EMEA and APAC.
I'm commercially wired. The work I'm most proud of connects brand investment directly to pipeline, MQL growth, ARR contribution and market positioning — and I bring the rigour to measure and articulate that connection clearly.
I also build the operational infrastructure that makes brand functions scale. At Phocas Software I built the company's AI tooling infrastructure from the ground up — designing a suite of brand AI skills, deploying an AI workflow system across the team, and making AI-assisted content production standard practice. That's the kind of work I believe defines what a modern brand function looks like.
